La Copa de Bullas, or simply La Copa, is a village with a population of about 800 which also belongs to the Municipality of Bullas. It is located in the North, 4 kilometres away from Bullas, near the Campo de Cagit\u00e1n and at 545 metres above sea level. \u00a0
\nThe most ancient remains are those of Roman villae around the village and its history runs together with the Bullas one, both in the origin at the beginning of the 17th century and in the moment of the independence from Ceheg\u00edn, when La Copa citizens decide to join the new municipality. Then there were two Copas, \u201cde Arriba\u201d (Upper), small farmhouses near the mount La Silla and \u201cde Abajo\u201d (Lower), the proper La Copa of today. \u00a0
\nAgriculture and livestock have been the basis of the economy and the main source of enployment for the people of La Copa until the mid 20th century. In the early 60\u2019s, a local family established an important processed vegetables industry which gave a real boost for the economic life of the village. \u00a0
\nLa Copa de Bullas is a village that has maintained a strong personality and its feasts and traditions are a proof of that. They are the San Ant\u00f3n Feast in January (with the famous \u201cAuction\u201d and the \u201cInnocent Dance\u201d), La Pur\u00edsima in December (with the traditional songs of the \u201cauroros\u201d going over the streets) and the Patronal Feast at the beginning of September (honouring Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Consolaci\u00f3n y del Perpetuo Socorro).
\nThe main points of interest in La Copa are the church of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Consolaci\u00f3n, with the same ancient origin that the village itself and created as a parish in 1904 and the rebuilt chapel of San Ant\u00f3n in the quarter of El Calvario. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
